I remember being a pre-teen when I ventured into the realm of adult literature. The girls in my class and I would trade books our parents didn’t know we were reading. I mean, these works are very mature for young catholic school girls, but it was just too juicy to put down.

I had never read anything so descriptive, enticing and risque before, but that made it all the more exciting to read. Storylines took me on a journey, each book transporting me to a lifestyle so vastly different from my own reality. For a few days and about 400 pages, I got to be the well-adjusted “good girl” whose first love is the sexy neighborhood drug dealer, the beautiful daughter of  to a New York City kingpin chilling in VIP with 1999’s hottest rappers, and then explore a steamy extramarital affair turned fatal attraction all in the name of sexual satisfaction. 

I’m sure many of you have read a few of these cover-to-cover too. Do you remember Sista Soulja’s “The Coldest Winter Ever,” Omar Tyree’s “Flyy Girl,” “True to the Game” by Terri Woods and of course “Addicted” by Zane?

Well Lionsgate Films is taking the pre-50 Shades of Grey text from the “Queen of Erotica” and turning Zane’s wildly popular Addicted into a featured film starring  Sharon Leal and Boris Kodjoe. Addicted is scheduled to hit theaters nationwide on October 10th. Watch the trailer!
