Wale dropped the visuals for his song “The Body” featuring chi-town crooner Jeremih. The video features a debonair Wale dressed plush velvet and fresh foams. He’s pursuing the aisles of a library when he catches the eye of the beautiful naturalista standing there reading.
The mini-film takes us on a first date with the DMV rapper, from the cute, subtle love note to him picking up his date reassuring her of her natural beauty. Jeremih’s cameo helps to move along the storyline, where we leave the couple at dinner at the end of the video. While we don’t know what really happened, I’m pretty sure she wants a second date.
“The Body” is the first single from Wale’s forthcoming album “The Album About Nothing.” While we’re waiting for an official release date, he’s gifted us a new mixtape.
This Fall I got to catch up with Jeremih, who shared the stage with Wale in DC to perform this song live. During our chat he revealed to me that’s looking for someone to share his “Late Nights” (both the mixtape and the cold one’s on the road alone) with. I had to ask what he’s into, the top of his list was “a beautiful woman with a good ass mind that I can talk to and get to know and… do her thing in the bedroom of course.”
We also talked about his new single “Planes” with J. Cole, and his Nissan endorsement.
