black-trade-lines-app-thebobbypenWith the holiday season fast approaching, there are sales ads and commercials going up left and right. All of us want to save money, but what if you could get the same services & products and invest in our community at the same time?  Introducing, Black Trade Lines app.  It’s a mobile app that helps locate black owned businesses in your area to offer your patronage to.  The app is free, and is available in both the Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store.

You will need to register to use it, but it covers everything from hair salons to computer repair (of course I zeroed in on that one lol).  You can set your location or let it use the location through your smartphone. I don’t advocate this, it’s just easier to plug in your location, pick the category and browse.

This app isn’t limited to just businesses but you can also look up charity events, fundraisers, and find volunteer groups as well.  For business owners, once you’ve registered you can add your business right from within the app, perfect for the entrepreneur on-the-go.

In the same breath, I encourage our black business owners to get involved and add their business to this app as well. You never know how people will come across your business, but word-of-mouth shouldn’t be your only means of marketing.

Sign up for these free apps to advertise your business, add it on Yelp, Craigslist, Fiverr, etc.  Make sure your web presence is out there; after all people don’t use the yellow pages anymore.  This weekend get out and support black owned businesses, so that you are reinvesting in our communities. There is power in our wallet.  So be sure to download this app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Search “Black Trade.” You can also check them out on their website: www.blacktradelines.com
