The Put On: Aime to The x Chill Moody

I believe in supporting people you know, especially when you believe in their work. These two guys are going to be big names in Hip-Hop. I’m certain of it.

Up first…

AIME TO THE

I met this guy in undergrad at Temple and we really formed a bond in our Poetry as Performance class. He’s clearly a rapper at heart, as our teacher had to break him from his staccato rapper style presentation. This versatility he developed in the spoken word technique helped him grow right before my eyes. I’m honored not only to know him, but also to have been featured on his track “Lost in a Lonely World” from his latest EP When It’s Cold Outside released early this yearHis first project was released in the Fall of 2008 titled Aime for the Sky. The project received plenty attention and notoriety by leaving listeners anxiously anticipating more from the light-hearted yet lyrically aggressive newcomer. Not one to disappoint, Aime returned with his first EP Class Act released in October of 2009.

He brings to us today a track from his forthcoming EP Perfect Aime– A freestyle to Lupe Fiasco‘s “I’m Beamin’.” I think he killed the track! This Haitian New York native, who’s currently tearing the game up in Philadelphia’s music scene, is one to watch out for. Check out his video here:

Next up..

CHILL MOODY

I met this guy back in February through Aime. He’s not only a rapper, but a producer. Also with several mixtapes under his belt, Moody makes it his mission to carry West Illadel  on his back. His latest project is a collaboration with Babylon Cartel Clothing and DJ Ricochet is a Hip-Hop rap clash mix and mash session with North Carolina rapper J. Cole titled We Got Winners. There are 11 tracks on the EP and it’s free to download here and on Babylon Cartel’s website. (Click link to begin the download now!) Among the tracks is this freestyle to West Coast rap group Souls of Mischief‘s  “‘93 ’til Infinity.” Check him out here:
