The music, the fashion…the technology? The GRAMMY Awards are next Sunday on CBS, and of course the awards themselves are all about the music. The red carpet is about the fashion, so where does technology fit into all of this? Besides the fact that technology makes the production of both music and the show possible, there are a few was tech is shaping the way viewers experience the biggest night in Music.

The GRAMMYs App allows you to get behind the scenes access to the crown jewel of music award shows. It also let’s you view live Red Carpet coverage so you can catch all the fashion and interviews with your favorite celebrities.

And while all of this is great, the app doesn’t only shine on the day of the GRAMMYs, but also all year long. You can search performances and interviews by tons of artists, as well as access the complete list of nominees and winners (even the awards that don’t make it on the air). The only thing the app is missing is an actual live stream of the awards show itself. The app is available in the App Store for iOS (iPad and iPhone).

Another way technology plays into this awards show, is social media of course. Am I the only person that enjoys watching these awards shows while being on Twitter? You get all sorts of viewpoints, memes, jokes– it just makes it more fun! You’re bound to come across a tweet that states exactly what you were thinking. So make sure to pay attention to the hashtag #GRAMMYs when the show starts.

Now, if you are on an Android device or another type of mobile device and want to follow the Grammys coverage, you can check out the GRAMMYs website as well as CBS. You get to check out additional interviews, see all the fashion hits and misses, not to mention the behind the scenes footage.

If you absolutely have no intentions of watching the GRAMMYs on an actual television, fret not, if you sign up for CBS All Access you can stream live TV! Yes, you can watch entire shows live on-the-go. You also get access to shows the day after they air. Somehow, I don’t see televisions being so much of a home staple anymore for millennials. The service is $5.99/month. Right now they are offering one week free, so if you time it right you can sign up to stream The GRAMMYs for free, and then cancel like any subscription service.

I’ll be watching the GRAMMYs live from my living room and tweeting on February 8th at 8pm EST. Will you?
