This week Tamia marked her 20th year as a renowned R&B singer with the release of new album “Love Life.” She stopped by Radio One’s Majic 102.3 on Wednesday to talk marriage, fitness and her 6th studio album with radio host Adimu Colon.
The intimate affair welcomed the station’s listeners to an all-inclusive, behind-the-scenes event putting them up close and personal with their favorite artist. Catered by Old Towne Inn of Gaithersburg, Md., Chef Donnell hooked us up! Crab & artichoke dip with pita chips, fresh fruit salad, succulent meatballs, old-fashion cornbread, fried shrimp and catfish tenders created a menu to die for.
In addition to the great live interview with Adimu asking questions like “What is your leg day routine?” and “What does it mean to give your all to your husband?” fans were able to ask Tamia their own questions. One curious listener asked Tamia how she feels about being underrated in today’s mainstream musical climate. Paraphrasing: “There once was a time when singers would sing and rappers would rap. That’s not the case anymore, but people who love my music are loyal. Technology has also evolved since I started out and now people can go out and find the music they want, create their own playlists and radio stations. My fans know where to find me,” Tamia expressed.
Before a one-on-one meet and greet with every fan, Tamia performed an acoustic set of four songs with guitarist Robb Torres and boy is her voice incredible. She took us on a journey through her catalog from current single “Sandwich and a Soda” to “I’m So Into You,” gently guiding us to her hit “Officially Missing You.”
I had a ball shooting for Majic and it was exciting to see my photography credit on their website yesterday! Enjoy some of the photos that didn’t make their site here
