TheBobbyPen.com presents Revealed Official Launch Event and Artist Showcase April 25, 2013

On April 25, 2013, Lauren M. Williams, founder and Executive Creative Director of  TheBobbyPen.com, officially launched her blog at a charity event at Indulj Restaurant and Lounge, located in Washington, D. C.’s historic U Street Corridor. Revealed: Official Launch Event and Artist Showcase was hosted by Deja Perez of 93.9 WKYS. The evening feature performances by local artists E. Hall, Chris Barz and Ihsan Bilal, a fashion show featuring designs  by Mila & Fire Vintage and renée Çabatçnoh, a cocktail reception sponsored by Courvoisier Cognac where guests were able to network, raised funds to benefit Metro TeenAIDS, and the official introduction of TheBobbyPen.com.

Metro TeenAIDS is DC’s only community health organization working for and with young people to end HIV/AIDS. The organization counsels young people diagnosed with HIV, distributes condoms and other contraceptives to clinics and youth centers around the city, and advocates for legislation that improves the quality of sex education in our public schools. Washington, DC has one of the highest rising rates of HIV/AIDS cases in the country. And across the nation, half of all new HIV infections occur among people under the age of 25– many if whom haven’t even been tested, therefore, aren’t receiving treatment. As a native Washingtonian, this is a cause that is near and dear to my heart, and Ms. Williams would like to draw attention to organizations like Metro TeenAIDS working to combat stigma, counseling and educating toward a HIV/AIDS-free future.

The event brought together music industry insiders, entrepreneurs, community leaders and local media for an evening celebrating the arts, fashion and Ms. Williams’ exciting new blog, TheBobbyPen.com.
