Yeezus inks new shoe deal with Adidas, but are they biting Nike’s bullet?

During Kanye West’s current Yeezus Tour, the outspoken rapper revealed to crowds around the country that he and Nike hadn’t been seeing eye-to-eye.

The 21 Grammy holding musician, and new father, is looking to release the third installment of his Air Yeezy sneaker line, but isn’t getting the cooperation he wants from current partner Nike.

Well, as we’ve seen since H-to-the-Izzo, Ye doesn’t know how to take “no” for an answer, and found a workaround in competitor brand Adidas.

He claims Nike wouldn’t offer him typically athletes-only royalties, but Adidas showed up on it’s white horse wearing triple striped cape to help the Chicago rapper work toward his goals of being the “Tupac of Product” and securing a strong financial future for his daughter North West.

Kanye says in a radio interview with Hot .97‘s Angie Martinez:

“So, the old me, without a daughter, might have taken the Nike deal, ‘cause I just love Nike so much blah blah blah, but the new me, with a daughter, takes the Adidas deal….I have to provide for my family.”

Adidas doesn’t seem to fear Kanye’s colorful personality and outbursts, but I sure don’t want to see him go down like Rick Ross’ Reebok endorsement revoke.

UPDATE: According to reports, Kanye is also asking his following to boycott high-end retailer Louis Vuitton the rest of the year.

Only time will tell.

For now, I applaud Kanye for being a stand-up family man. Kudos!
