HOUSTON, TEXAS – As flights arrived and football fans began checking into hotels ready to enjoy the “Big Game,” some of the industry’s most influential entertainers gathered to kick-off the 51st Super Bowl at the first-ever Power of Influence Awards Brunch. This powerful event was created to celebrate several artists who are making an impact in the community through their crafts.
At Friday’s event (Feb. 3,) The Bobby Pen sat down with pop superstar and honoree, Jordin Sparks, to talk about her 10-year journey in the industry, body shaming & self-acceptance and her M.A.D. Foundation, which creates meaningful Super Bowl memories for hospitalized kids.
The Bobby Pen also played a one-on-one game of “Black Card Revoked” with All Eyez on Me actor and recording artist, Stefon Washington.
During the game, Bobby Pen asked, “Who really needs their black card revoked this year?” giving him the options of Bill Cosby, Stacey Dash, Ben Carson and Bow Wow. Without much thought, Stacey Dash and Ben Carson were tied, both for their unpopular racial and political viewpoints.
