Good_Girl_Mprynt_One_Sweet_Day_Cover_TheBobbyPenOur dolls Good Girl teamed up with Philly boy group Mprynt to cover 90’s smash “One Sweet Day” by Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men for justice.

The groups solicited help from industry leaders like Luke James, John Legend, BJ The Chicago Kid, Marsha Ambrosius, Elle Varner, Mack Wilds, Chrisette Michele, Elijah Blake, RaVaughnSonna Rele, Dwele and one of the song’s writers, Shawn Stockman to show the industry’s solidarity.

Each artist held up a piece of paper bearing the name of a victim of police brutality and excessive force. The touching tribute really helps to illustrate how large an issue this is and reminds us music lovers that our voices matter.

Good Girl and Mprynt urge us to “please take the time to research every name lifted up in this video, for their stories and those of countless others should all be known.”

I too hope that you will take the time to learn more about this human rights issue and figure out the most effective way you can aid in the efforts of pressuring the justice system to do it’s job and discourage police officers from shooting to kill as a first resort, properly penalize those officers who break protocol and encourage more accountability in general. Everyone has a part to play, whatever it may be, I ask that you take a stand and do it today.

How did you like this cover? What are your thoughts?
