In new lawsuit filed Tuesday against Beats Electronics, former Beats stakeholder and founder of rival video & audio company Monster LLC, Noel Lee vilifies Rapper Dr. Dre and music producer Jimmy Iovine as shady businessmen.

Mashable reports that Lee, who once held 5 percent stake in the empire as part of a Beats/Monster partnership, alleges he was prompted to curtail that to a mere 1.25 percent after the duo’s “sham” deal with HTC smartphones in 2011.

The complaint accuses Dre and Iovine of double crossing Lee. He sold his remaining holdings in Beats in 2013 after being promised the company would not be sold for at least several years.

Last May, Apple acquired Beats making Dre and Iovine executives at the trendy tech company. Essentially, Lee is upset because he could have made $30 million in the Apple deal had he held on to his 1.25 percent. His original 5% stake would have been worth roughly $150 million.

It appears that the salty Lee wants to recover the money that he believes he lost through the alleged misconduct of Dre and Iovine. He claims that he was the brains behind Beats By Dre headphones, and Dre and Iovine are little more than figureheads.

Business is all about risk, and it looks like Noel Lee is upset about the outcome of the risks he took. What do you think? Is Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine shady or is Noel Lee just being a hater?
