Since learning about the water crisis in Flint, MI where thousands of children have been exposed to lead, three federal state of emergencies have been issued, and Governor Snyder seems to not give a damn, several entertainers and artists like Detroit rapper Big Sean, Jimmy Fallon, DJ Mustard, Aretha Franklin, Cher and The Game— who donated $500,000 of his own money to Avita Water company which matched his donation for a total of $1 million dollars of clean water for Flint’s citizens– have stepped in to offer some form of monetary support.

While us regular folk don’t have thousands to toss around individually, we can come together collectively to make an impact on the lives of the citizens in Flint. That’s why charitable organizations WillRap4Food, MadeInTheDMV and Love Life Foundation developed the #Flow4Flint Weekend; in order to combine the DMV’s music scene and philanthropic communities.
